5 REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD READ DAN BROWN

an Brown is an exceptionally gifted storyteller who spans not just continents but all forms of cultures and traditions in his books. His most famous book , ‘The Da Vinci Code’ , left a lot of people speechless and there was a ton of talk about it even after years of publishing. Each novel is infused with science. Art, history, philosophy and even theology. You are sure to gain some extra knowledge from his books along with the fast paced thrillers. If you’re looking for a mind blowing read this season then you have landed at the right page. Here are 5 reasons why you should read The Da Vinci Code at least once in your lifetime and probably why it is one of the most sold books of all time.

1. Astounding Plot

Robert Langdon and Sophie Neveu are on a quest to decipher the code left behind by Sophie’s grandfather, Jacques Sauniere minutes before getting murdered. This code will lead them to something that will change the history of Christianity. This is the plot of one of his most talked about and bestseller. The 80 million dollar bestseller, ‘The Da Vinci Code’ has broken several records. The plot is extremely gripping and the story has so many twists and turns that it is impossible to not read further. I remember starting it and before I knew it , just one more chapter had become the entire book.

2. A Plethora Of Information

You will feel educated after reading his books. Don’t take anybody’s word for it but the author himself,Dan Brown: ” 99 percent of it is true. All of the architecture, the art, the secret rituals, the history, all of that is true, the Gnostic gospels. All of that is … all that is fiction, of course, is that there’s a Harvard symbologist named Robert Langdon, and all of his action is fictionalized.” When you realize all the conspiracy theories you have been reading about in the book are not just for the plot but actually very true , it stays in the mind of the reader forever.

All his books, especially the Robert Langdon series, have innumerable facts that help you enhance your knowledge base about Christianity,  Leonardo Da Vinci and his paintings or even symbology and cryptology  . For instance , I knew nothing about the Fibonacci sequence before reading this book or that the painting or the most complex interpretations of art like, The Last Supper , is perhaps a depiction of 12 men and one woman, whether that woman is actually Mary Magdalene or not is something for you to decide.

3. Extremely Thought Provoking

In a world full of people having a preconceived notion about everything this was one of those very few books that argued with a lot of biblical facts that we now know as true. I don’t know if any of the contradictions are true but it surely gives your brain enough things to ponder every once in a while. It literally backs up every single statement against the church or for the church with a very relevant fact .

4. It’s Controversial!!!

I don’t know about you but I’m always looking for some tea and this book definitely spills a lot on some subjects.

A lot of people have condemned this book and almost the same number have loved it. I don’t think that the book is anti christian but it argues with some aspects of modern day Christianity.

Brown states on his website that his books are not anti-Christian, though he is on a ‘constant spiritual journey’ himself, and says that his book The Da Vinci Code is simply “an entertaining story that promotes spiritual discussion and debate” and suggests that the book may be used “as a positive catalyst for introspection and exploration of our faith”.

5. Unforgettable

Reading this book is an experience you will never forget or regret. The characters, story line , writing style and the extensive factual declarations will keep you hooked to this book until the very end. I think what distinguishes Brown’s books from others in this genre ,is his genuine characters and unique plots. Dan Brown explores uncharted ground while maintaining his distinctive and audacious literary style. Bravo!
